I got back into running in the summer of 2017 as a way of helping fight against being diagnosed with diabetes. By November of 2017 I completed my first 5K in 11 years. During 2018 I set PB's in the 10K and Half Marathon and completed the 2018 New York City Marathon. In 2019 I completed multiple Half Marathons (in addition to 5Ks, 10K, and trail races), as well as completing the 2019 Rock 'n' Roll Savannah Marathon under my goal time. Throughout the Covid pandemic, I've continued running and re-engaged with cycling, too. Being active and promoting a healthy lifestyle, I believe, has helped me avoid getting Covid and also helped me manage my Type 2 diabetes. I had to defer my 2022 NYC Marathon entry due to hernia surgery, but I look forward to running the NYC Marathon in 2023 in addition to other races of multiple distances.
