I spent my 20s on the east coast in Philadelphia, and at 30 made the move to the west cost to live in Portland, Oregon. I hoped to redefine "work/life balance" for myself, and moving across the country to an incredibly runner-friendly city has helped change my perspective. When asked "what do you do?" -- yes, I work a full time corporate job, but I also run, cycle, spend time at the mountain and in the woods with friends. Work and life are no longer competitors, they encourage one another to be the best version of myself, and I think both work and life are best served with snacks!
