I'm a cultural and environmental historian of what is currently the U.S. West. I live in Colorado Springs, and teach at Colorado College, a very cool small liberal arts college that operates on a block plan schedule where students take and we teach one class at a time. This means in a non-pandemic context, I'm in the classroom with the same group of students for 3 hours a day, every day for 3.5 weeks -- and then after a long weekend, we switch to the next class. (Picky Bars help a lot with this super intense schedule!) I've been an athlete on and off my whole life -- ballet, soccer, field hockey growing up, D1 rugby in college, some cycling, yoga in grad school -- but I've only recently begun running with intention and purpose. I ran my first half marathon in 2019, and have been training for about 3 years. Running has become one of my happy places, and I hope to keep getting stronger and more efficient so that I can do this for a long time. Also, in 2022, I became one of the state leaders for the Oiselle Volee! I'm working to rebuild a community down in Colorado Springs -- we haven't had a leader in this part of the state in a handful of years.
