I am a competitive distance runner (17:59 5k, 36:39 10k, 1:23:51 half, 2:58:59 debut marathon) living in Bend. I ran when I was younger, but got injured, and then struggled with an eating disorder for 5 years. After I got into recovery and was healthy enough, I returned to running in my mid/late 20's and I love the person it is turning me into. Running has helped me become more confident in myself, while also feeling more connected to and empathetic towards others.
I work at the Central Oregon based non-profit Saving Grace, which services survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and trafficking (who Picky Bars donates to THANK YOU!). I also want to make athletics more accessible to those who have traditionally felt excluded like members of the LGBTQIA community. In 2019, I organized the inaugural Bend Pride 5k with OUT Central Oregon. Picky Bars also donated to that event THANK YOU AGAIN! I have also down hill skied since I was 3 and it is my shared sport with my husband and family. I enjoy backpacking and my first hike was the John Muir Trail in 2017. I have since climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2018 and sectioned hiked parts of the OR and CA PCT in 2019 and 2020. I am a cat lady and only a little bit embarrassed about it.
