Hi there! I'm currently an AmBADASSador and all my info from my initial application applies! I edited slightly and am keeping it below. :)
I'd love more opportunities to feel part of the team but I am a more solo-style runner; it's hard to balance ALL THE THINGS as you know.
My name is Blake, but I'm a lady. I've got 2 daughters, 3 dogs, and a rabbit. Happily married and living in the mountains of Colorado. I am a nurse, currently specializing in a nurse/writing combo (which is incredible) for a public health company. I write health-related articles, helping parents know how to triage certain situations. I also write and help develop an app, again all health-related. Really awesome work. (Company is called Kinsa.)
Outside of work, I love to run. Trail running is my true love, 50k and beyond. But I also haven't completely let go of road running yet, finally getting my sub-3 marathon in 2022. In addition to running, I lift 2-3 times per week.
Oh, and in addition to nursing, I'm also a cross country coach at the High School here in town. Honestly just able to combine everything I love and feel very very lucky.
I'm a very happy, positive person. I am competitive but competing is not the reason I do any of the things I do. I really enjoy the process of working hard and attempting to be my best. If I could never ever race again, I would continue doing exactly what I'm doing now. I thrive off of setting goals and raising expectations I have of myself.
