Grew up racing and recreating in Anchorage, AK (xc running, xc skiing, swimming, track, triathlons). Was a DI collegiate Nordic ski racer. Then switched to triathlons/mountain/road biking the last 2 years in college. Moved back to AK in 2001 after graduating (after a quick stint in boulder to train for triathlons) and started coaching running, Nordic skiing, and triathlons- mostly at the high school level but coach masters as well- beginners to advanced. I am currently head coach for a 110 member high school running team, coach a 70 person Nordic women’s program, and a high school triathlon club for staff and students (I have even taken teams of students to compete at the Pole Pedal Paddle and hope to again in 2023).

I am president of the Gold Nugget Triathlon board (40 year old women’s tri in AK) and president of the Nordic Skiing Assoc. of Anchorage. I also host/plan a weekly ‘friluftsliv’ outdoor gathering for my school staff to help encourage people to get outside. Lastly, I spearhead our schools ‘100 Miles in May’ team which is a statewide competition which encourages movement in the month of May. We had over 40 teachers participate (big team). I just love getting people outside and moving their bodies. We are at a crisis of mental (and physical) health in this country. Fresh air and adventures do a body good!! Also- I LOVE pickybar products.
