I am an avid road and gravel cyclist. I have the boy scouts to thank for finding my passion for cycling. If it was not for the bicycling merit badge I would not have found road cycling. This lead me to jointing my local cycling club and fast forward about 15 years I am still in love with the sport. Currently I ride about 5,000 miles a year mostly with friends and my local cycling club. I take part in about 4-5 gravel grinders or races each year. For 2023 I plan on doing farmer’s daughter and the TransRockies Gravel Royal again. It was the TransRockies fravel stage race where I realized I want to do more racing. I have tried road racing and found the fellow racers not to be that friendly especially during the race. During the TransRockies race I had several mechanics including a flat and dropped chains. The fellow racers I was with stoped or asked if I was ok and if I needed anything. The gravel community is much more welcoming than road racing and I want to help spread this within the cycling community.
When the weather gets cold and snowy I enjoy skiing. This past season I spent most of my ski days at Killington, Stratton, and windham. Although a few friends got me into earning my turns by skinning ip and skiing down. What a great workout and beats the indoor trainer every time.
This is just scratching the surface hopefully I get to meet some of the Picky team and share some adventures.
